Gift of securities are encouraged. In most cases an outright gift of appreciated securities entitles the donor to an income tax deduction equal to the fair market value of the securities. Gifts of personal property are accepted if they can serve a worthwhile purpose in the life of the Institute. A description of the item donated will be provided to you by the Gift Planning & Advancement Office. However, you are responsible for determining the value of the item for tax purposes.
