Chris obtained his Masters in Mechanical Engineering and Business Administration from the Technical University in Berlin, Germany. He is currently holding a director-level position at Symantec, the leader in Internet Security. His previous work experience on a leadership level includes Cisco, Gap and Arthur Andersen.

Chris has a lifelong interest in all aspects of spirituality and psychology. The Germanic countries have a long history in psychology, which is a key element of the German humanistic education. Chris had the benefits of being exposed to the teachings of Freud and Jung at an early age and his study of the subject has continued into his adult life. In fact, it was the teachings of Roberto Assagioli, which lead him to ITP.

Jeff Keimer Jeff Keimer

After graduating with a BSEE, Jeff spent five years in high technology product sales and marketing.  He then moved into the investment field.  Stimulated by his observation that business problems invariably stem from people problems, in 1977 he earned a Master of Arts in Business Psychology from the University of San Francisco. His studies had an emphasis on the Transactional Analysis psychological model. Eventually his investment work became focused on personal financial planning and he earned the Certified Financial Planner™ (CFP®) designation in 1987. 

He is now a Vice President with Stanford Investment Group, Inc., where he provides financial planning advice and portfolio management services to individual clients, primarily from Silicon Valley companies. He has served as a member of the ITP Board of Trustees since 2005.  During the last seven years, he has made an intensive study of the Enneagram and has arranged educational workshops at ITP on that psychological model.  He is a past-president of Big Brothers/Big Sisters of the Peninsula, a past president of the Peninsula Kiwanis Club, founder of the Peninsula Kiwanis Charitable Foundation and a current member of the Palo Alto Kiwanis Club. He and his wife Marcia live in Portola Valley.

Dr. Neal KingNeal King

A former Roman Catholic seminarian, Dr. Neal King has lived and worked in both Buddhist and Muslim cultures in the third world and has enjoyed a life-long fascination with comparative cosmologies – the study of how different people and cultures understand their relationship with forces larger than themselves.

Dr. King is a psychologist by training, having completed his graduate study at UC Berkeley. Prior to joining the ITP community he was President of Antioch University Los Angeles. With extensive experience as a psychologist in private practice in Northern California for fourteen years, Dr. King has served in a variety of faculty and administrative positions in non-profit, public and private, for-profit and state settings. He was the founding director of the Psy.D. Program at John F. Kennedy University in the San Francisco Bay Area, the founding campus president of what was then the University of Sarasota Orange County, California campus, and Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs at a small art and design college in Colorado. He has previously been a high school English teacher and counselor in Northern California, London, Laos and Algeria.

Dr. King has served as a volunteer consultant for three of the six regional accrediting bodies for higher education in the United States, including the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). He was recently asked by WASC to join their Eligibility Review Committee.

Both at Antioch New England and at Antioch University Los Angeles, Neal has created a vision that emphasizes collaboration, transparency, academic quality, shared governance, and open communication with the campus community.

Dr. King is Secretary-General-elect of the International Association of University Presidents (IAUP) and has recently been a member of IAUP’s delegation to the launch of the United Nations Academic Impact Initiative and to the World Innovation Summit for Education (WISE 2010) in Doha, Qatar. Dr. King was appointed as a commission member of the International Association of University Presidents (IAUP) and United Nation’s Commission on Disarmament Education, Conflict Resolution and Peace. The IAUP/UN Commission on Disarmament Education, Conflict Resolution and Peace was founded in 1990 and its overall mission is to ‘promote peace in our global society; to promote a more equal distribution of wealth and social conditions; and to promote tolerance, mutual understanding, and respect.’ Commission members consist of representatives from colleges and universities from around the globe.

Dr. King is also a founding member and member of the steering committee of LGBTQ Presidents in Higher Education, and has recently been appointed to the Executive Board of California Campus Compact.

Terrence ConnellyTerrence Connelly

Terry Connelly was selected in 2004 as the new Dean of the Ageno School of Business of Golden Gate University after a 35-year career as a lawyer and senior executive in professional and financial services in the US and abroad.

After practicing corporate and antitrust law from 1968 to 1977 at Cravath, Swaine & Moore in New York and London, Mr. Connelly joined Salomon Brothers, where he became a Managing Director and Chief of Staff of Global Investment Banking. In 1995, he was named Managing Director and Head of Investment Banking at Cowen & Company, a technology, communications and life sciences boutique with a major presence in San Francisco.

After the sale of Cowen to Societe Generale in 1998, Mr. Connelly relocated to Australia in connection with his wife’s family business interests.  While there, he served as Director of Strategic Advisory Services for Ernst & Young Australia, and as an Adjunct at the Graduate School of Business of Queensland University of Technology, where he lectured on strategy, professional services management, corporate governance and the Sarbanes-Oxley Act.

During his career, he has been engaged in numerous pro bono activities, including Chair of the Corporate Finance Committee of The Securities Industry Association, Fellow of The Aspen Institute, President and Trustee of The Burden Center for the Aging in New York, Chair of the Program Council of The Center for International Studies and the Liberal Arts at Connecticut College and more.

Mr. Connelly and his wife, Jennifer live in Palo Alto with their two daughters.

Richard A. HeselRichard A. Hesel

Rick Hesel has worked as a strategic marketing consultant to higher education since 1976. His experience covers a broad array of institutional advancement concerns, including: recruitment of undergraduate, graduate, part-time adult, and professional school students; financial aid; development, including capital campaigns, annual giving, and planned giving; curriculum development; student life; press and public relations; corporate and government relations; physical plant planning; alumni and parent relations; communications, and publications. He supervised the first large-scale uses of survey research and strategic planning in student recruitment and fundraising and pioneered the development of a sophisticated analytical tool that uses econometrics to model student choice and maximize the cost-effectiveness of financial aid expenditures.

Mr. Hesel's clients have included many leading colleges and universities, including Harvard, Yale, Dartmouth, Columbia, Cornell, the University of Pennsylvania, Smith College, the University of Chicago, Duke, UNC Chapel Hill, the University of Illinois, Amherst, Oberlin, New York University, and the University of London. He also advises the College Board.

Mr. Hesel also has considerable international experience. Under the sponsorship of the U.S. Embassy in Prague, the Fulbright Commission, and the U.S. Department of State, Rick conducted seminars and workshops on branding and marketing for the rectors and vice-rectors leading universities in the Czech Republic. He is leading several initiatives in China with Tsinghua University, the State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs, and the Shenhua Energy Group.

Rick also plans and conducts workshops on marketing and branding for the American Council on Education's Fellows Program, which prepares promising faculty and staff for presidencies and other academic and administrative leadership positions.

Loic Jassy, Ph.D.Loïc Jassy

Dr. Jassy has been a psychotherapist and workshop leader for the past 30 years. He maintains a private practice in Soquel and Los Gatos, CA, counseling individuals, couples and families. Dr. Jassy is a pioneer in somatic psychotherapy specializing in the therapeutic use of transformational breathwork. He was a Director of the Hendricks Institute for eight years and trained hundreds of therapists in body centered psychotherapy. He has facilitated many mens' retreats, couple's retreats, and a variety of personal growth workshops and seminars. Dr. Jassy has taught at the Institute of Transpersonal Psychology, Esalen Institute, The Center for Spiritual Enlightenment, Cabrillo College, The Body Therapy Center, Alive and Well, and numerous other venues.

After a BA (cum laude) in psychology (SUNY Buffalo), Loïc Jassy studied and taught Kundalini Yoga and had a practice as a holistic body therapist in the mid 1970’s. He was an original student at ITP entering in 1978, which was the third year of ITP’s existence. ITP was the most powerful and pivotal self actualization experience in the professional development of Loïc’s desire to serve the evolution of humanity. He earned his MA in TP in 1980 and his Ph.D. in Transpersonal Psychology from ITP in 1985. He is a licensed marriage and family therapist in the state of California.

Dr. Jassy has applied the principles of Transpersonal Psychology as taught at ITP into a successful counseling practice integrating spiritual awakening in an embodied, experiential approach to transformational depth psychotherapy. His work combines cognitive insight with practical behavioral change that can positively impact an individual and the world around them.

Dr. Jassy is particularly excited about his extensive work with couples, going beyond standard relationship counseling into an integration of psycho-spiritual consciousness expansion, assisting bonded relationships in becoming more loving, less ego defended, and more on the leading edge of human potential.

Yangchen Lama, CFP, CRPCYangchen D. Lama

Yangchen Lama provides holistic wealth planning with an emphasis on estate and legacy planning and portfolio management for high net worth individuals and business owners. Prior to joining Morgan Stanley Smith Barney in 2009, she had a successful wealth management practice at UBS Financial Services in Beverly Hills, California. Her previous professional experiences include managing $12 billion education budget and financial plan for New York City, managing $750 million capital plan for New York University as well as conducting valuation and investment analysis of companies in South East Asia, East Asia and Africa as an investment banker.

She received her Bachelor of Arts and Masters in Public Administration with concentration in International Finance from Cornell University in 1998 & 1999 respectively. She holds designations in Certified Financial Planner, Chartered Retirement Planning Consultant and Portfolio Manager. She speaks several languages fluently such as Tibetan, Nepali, Hindi & English and conversational in Spanish. She also serves on the Board of Trustees for Antioch University Los Angeles. Over the last decade, her non-profit involvements have been primarily in helping provide funding for education access to young Tibetan and Nepalese girls in Nepal and India.

Ben ManciniBen Mancini

Prior to ITP, Mr. Mancini was Personal Chief of Staff, working in the State Capitol for one of California’s most influential legislators, working with or as Director of many committees including the Select Committee on Ethics, the National and International Self Esteem and Personal Responsibility Task Force, and the California Leadership Program. Prior to his governmental career, he was President and CEO of the Bank of Beverly Hills Qualified Plans. He was founder, President and CEO of Franklin Bank and Trust, and earlier founded and served as President and CEO of the Trust Company of California. Mr. Mancini served as Senior Vice-President, Director of Trust for North America for Hong King and Shanghai Bank. He has served as Officer and Director of various non-profit and professional organizations including the American Humanistic Psychological Association, and the California State Psychological Association. He has been a guest lecturer at the Stanford Graduate School of Business. He is a long time member and trustee of the WBA, Rhinex Institute, and the Founder of the Academic President’ group of Northern California. He has an Honorary Ph.D. from ITP, a degree in Industrial Relations and Business Management from San Jose State University and some graduate work at UC Berkeley. He has been a guest lecturer at the Stanford Graduate School of Business.

Dr. Maureen O'HaraMaureen O'Hara

Maureen O'Hara PhD. Maureen is Professor of Psychology, National University, President Emerita, Saybrook University, and CEO, International Futures Forum—Praxis, US a Bay Area think tank focusing on third horizon planning. Maureen’s scholarship focuses on the impact of large scale cultural shifts and threats to psychological development and emotional well-being of such challenges as climate change, economic crises, rapid technological and cultural and change. Maureen worked closely for many years with psychologist Carl Rogers in the development of person-entered theory and practice.

Active in both the humanistic and transpersonal communities, she served as President of Division 32 of the American Psychological Association and of the Association for Humanistic Psychology. Maureen is Fellow of the World Academy of Arts and Sciences and the American Psychological Association, and was selected by the Global Business Network as one of their “remarkable people,” advising on trends in cultural psychology. Among her many publications is a recent book (co-authored with Graham Leicester) 10 Things to Do in a Conceptual Emergency (2009), published by Triarchy Press which addresses the challenge and promise of changing times. She is co-editor of a bestselling college text, Handbook of Person Centered Psychotherapy and Counseling (2008) Macmillan: London.

Maureen was recently honored with the Carl Rogers Award for Contributions to Research in Humanistic Psychology, by the American Psychological Association (div 32) (2008). She also received the Donald N. Michael Award (2008).
