The Institute of Transpersonal Psychology (ITP) is a private, non-profit, graduate school, founded in 1975 as a California corporation. ITP is WASC accredited and offers Masters and Doctoral Degree Programs in the field of transpersonal psychology and related areas. The residential facility is located in Palo Alto, California, 45 minutes south of San Francisco. In addition, the Institute provides low-residency and distance learning (Global) programs to permit students the opportunity to study at home and on-line, as well as to meet at ITP for brief intensive seminars with their cohort and faculty.  An undergraduate, degree-completion program is currently in the planning process.

The mission of the Institute is to provide education at the graduate level in transpersonal psychology and related areas. The Institute’s purpose is to prepare students to apply the knowledge, principles and experiences of transpersonal psychology to research, training and the practice of clinicians, counselors, educators, and other professionals. It is the Institute’s broader purpose to provide leadership in the field of transpersonal psychology. In advancing this field, faculty and graduates contribute to the enrichment of human life and address worldwide needs with compassion and effectiveness. A collegial faculty and administrative culture prevails.

Curricular areas for core and contract faculty include transpersonal theory, spiritual traditions, spiritual guidance, creative expression, clinical psychology, human development, group and community work, organizational development, mind-body healing, somatic psychology, subtle energy, parapsychology, and transpersonal ecopsychology, as well as research methods and dissertation advising.

Director of Admissions
REPORTS TO: Vice President for Enrollment Management
Status: Full-Time, Regular, Exempt

The Director of Admissions provides leadership and management direction to the Office of Admissions.  S/he is primarily responsible for oversight of the process of converting inquiries to applications and applicants to matriculants.  The position is also responsible – in collaboration with the VPEM and the Marketing Specialist - for efforts to identify, attract, admit, and enroll new students to the Institute in furtherance of the institutional mission, core values and enrollment goals.  

The Director of Admissions will join efforts to: 1) identify and cultivate target markets, and students, locally, nationally and internationally;  2) promote the Institute’s unique programs and services;  3) facilitate access to all qualified candidates ; and,  4) administer a candidate selection process that meets prescribed goals for size, composition, quality and diversity, in a timely manner, as set by the Institute’s faculty leadership and senior administration.

The Director of Admissions is also responsible for overseeing the day to day operations of ITP’s Admissions Office, and providing effective supervision of staff to ensure high-quality service to all prospective students and other constituencies of ITP. This position participates on a number of management committees that advise the President on direction and strategy for the Institute. The Director of Admissions will be expected to demonstrate appropriate levels of professional and technical competence while maintaining high ethical standards in the discharge of this role, as well as the ability to collaborate effectively with faculty, staff in other departments and other key administrators at the Institute.

Marketing Specialist
REPORTS TO: Vice President for Enrollment Management
Status: Full-Time, Regular, Exempt

Position Summary:
The Marketing Specialist is responsible for the development and implementation of internal and external marketing functions that support enrollment.  This is a “hands on” position requiring demonstrated project management and both print and internet strategic marketing experience.  The Marketing Specialist works with administrative and faculty leadership and various work teams to implement a comprehensive marketing program in support of the Institute’s strategic enrollment plan to attract new students and enhance the organization’s brand and position within the marketplace.

The Communications Specialist is responsible for the development and implementation of public relations, branding, and communications functions both internal and external that advance the institution.  He/She works with administrative and faculty leadership and various work teams in the implementation of a comprehensive public relations and communications program that includes implementation of institutional brand, brand consistency, and publications in support of the Institute’s strategic plan to enhance the organization’s brand and position in the marketplace and general public

Executive Core Faculty
in Masters and PhD in Transpersonal Psychology

Institute of Transpersonal Psychology seeks candidates for part-time faculty position to serve as Executive Core Faculty for the 2012-2013 academic year. The Institute of Transpersonal Psychology invites applications for a core faculty position in our spiritually-oriented Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology program, which is currently seeking APA Accreditation. The eligible candidate will have experience in obtaining APA Accreditation, or other integral involvement in the APA accreditation process. Applicants must also be licensed or license eligible in California. Other qualifications include: Psy.D. or Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from an APA accredited program; qualified to teach and supervise clinical students; and research skills. Transpersonal psychology and/or spiritually-oriented background, interest, and/or publications required.

Experiential teaching experience preferred.
