An Introduction to AEDP:
Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy

Saturday and Sunday, April 10 and 11

This workshop will cover the theory and practice of AEDP. The AEDP-informed therapist engages and builds a secure therapeutic relationship with their patient from which intense affective experiences are explored and processed somatically and relationally to facilitate healing and transformation. Lecture, Discussion, Videotape and Experiential exercises will be provided.

Karen Pando-Mars, MFT is a faculty member for the Bay Area AEDP Core Training and is one of the founders of AEDP West.  She has trained and consulted with Diana Fosha, Ph.D and has been a licensed psychotherapist since 1989. Karen’s background is in somatic and experiential therapies including Focusing, Process-Oriented Psychology, Sandtray, EMDR, and Authentic Movement.

Learn how to minimize the impact of illness and other sudden emergencies on your clients, your colleagues and yourself.  In addition to focusing on the nuts and bolts of starting your own Therapist's Professional Will, the complex issues of termination and self-disclosure will also be addressed.

Ann E. Steiner, Ph.D., MFT has been leading psychotherapy groups for over 26 years, supervisees,
trains and provides consultation to therapists.  Dr. Steiner has served as an Associate Clinical Professor, Department of Psychiatry, University of California Medical School, San Francisco for over 14 years, and is on the faculty of The Psychotherapy Institute's Group Therapy Training Program.

Trauma and the Body:
Sensorimotor Interventions in the Treatment of Trauma

Learn about recent neuroscience research that explains how traumatic experience becomes
deeply embedded in both mind and body. During this workshop, you will be introduced to Sensorimotor Psychotherapy which can be used in addressing the nonverbal components of post traumatic symptoms.  

Janina Fisher, Ph.D., is a clinical psychologist in private practice in Watertown, Massachusetts and an Instructor at The Trauma Center in Boston, an outpatient clinic directed by Bessel van der Kolk.  Dr.
Fisher is a past president of the New England Society for the Treatment of Trauma and Dissociation, and
a former Instructor in Psychology, Harvard Medical School.  She lectures and teaches nationally and internationally on the integration of the neurobiological research and trauma treatment model with
traditional therapeutic modalities.
