Bob is the founding President of the Institute, and is currently a Professor and the Director of the Spiritual Guidance program. He is a transpersonal psychologist, consultant, and educator. In 1985 Bob was ordained as a sheikh, or spiritual guide, in the Sufi mystical tradition. He received a certificate in Spiritual Guidance from Mercy Center, Burlingame, California, and has been directing the ITP Spiritual Guidance program since 1998. Bob was trained in Aikido in Japan where he was a personal student of the founder of Aikido, and holds a 7th degree black belt—the highest honor ever awarded to a westerner.
