She is a licensed Mental Health Counselor and Creative Arts Therapist in New York State, as well as a registered Expressive Arts Therapist through the International Expressive Arts Therapy Association. Nancy has also completed training programs in Psychosynthesis, Authentic Movement, play therapy, expressive arts therapy, and marriage/family therapy.

She has presented on these topics across the United States and in Greece to professional organizations, as part of seminars, on multiple-day retreats and pilgrimages, and in classrooms. These topics are also embedded in modules that she has authored, co-authored, or revised. Some of these modules include Ecospirituality: Our Spiritual Connection with Gaia; Ecopsychology; Ways of Knowing: Creative, Transpersonal, and Collective; Inquiry into Creative and Innovative Processes; Creative Expression and Transformation; Theories of Personality: Eastern, Indigenous, Ecological; Spiritual Dimensions in Human Behavior: Wholeness Across the Lifespan; and Western Perspectives on Being Human.

Nancy's writings include: Walking on Sacred Soil: A Tribute to Thomas Berry, which has been accepted for publication (2011) in Presence: An International Journal of Spiritual Direction; The Healing Power of Creative Expression, in D. McCarthy's book, Speaking About the Unspeakable, Jessica Kingsley Publications (2008); Book Review of Sand, Water, Silence: Embodiment of Spirit by Mary Jane Markell, Journal of Transpersonal Psychology, (2007); Listening Through the Body, in M. Nancy continues to study ecospirituality and recently received a small grant to study the experience of feeling spiritually connected to the Natural World. She is in the process of writing two articles that emerged from this study. She has also submitted an article with Dorit Netzer on using Intuitive Inquiry to teach creative process.

Nancy has been involved in many spiritual practices, including meditative/contemplative practices, Authentic Movement, earth-based spiritual practices, drumming, and journey work. She is touched by the multiple ways that people connect with Spirit. In her work at ITP and through the Center of Sacred Studies, she encourages students to find the path that most connects them to themselves and to Spirit.
