Residential M.A. in Transpersonal Psychology
The MATP is a two year course of study designed for adult learners who wish to pursue graduate studies in psychology but do not intend to apply for a clinical license. The program's professional objective is to develop open and compassionate graduates whose skills in dialogue, systems thinking, strategic planning, disciplined inquiry, group dynamics and leadership enhance their current career path, or prepare them for a change of direction.
Master's course work is a disciplined inquiry into the field of transpersonal psychology. The program encourages development of the intellectual, emotional, spiritual, physical, social and creative dimensions of human life. Personal experience is highly regarded and forms the basis by which students critique psychological theories and models.
The educational philosophy of the Master's programs prescribes that entering classes attend the majority of the program courses together. This integrated group model builds community and honors the dialogue between the student, the learning process and the faculty members. Faculty and students together study and explore new paradigms of communication, learning, community, spirituality, creativity and awareness of self and others.
