ITP Scholarships
The Institute awards a limited number of need based scholarships. Funds for this scholarship are appropriated annually by the Board of Trustees as part of the annual operating budget. The scholarship program is intended as a bridge to assist needy students in managing tuition increases. It has never been intended as a primary source of funding.
Eligibility
Any student enrolled in an Institute program may apply for an Institute scholarship. The awards for the scholarship are need based, with secondary consideration given to diversifying the student body and to students demonstrating high potential to advance the field of transpersonal psychology.

Students wishing to apply for an Institute Scholarship should submit a completed scholarship application by the published deadline. Application materials include:

Awarding Aid
A Scholarship Committee made up of Institute personnel convenes after the application deadline to award the available funds. All scholarships for the coming year are awarded at one time. Students will be notified of the committee's decision in writing approximately one month after the application deadline.
Receipt of Aid
Scholarships are awarded as tuition reduction in three equal installments in the fall, winter and spring. No cash award will be made. In the event of a shortage of qualified applicants, all available funds may not be awarded.

Contribution to Student Body Diversity
Potential Contribution to the field of Transpersonal Psychology
Individual scholarship awards may range in size from $500 to $1,500. Each application will be considered on an individual basis by the scholarship committee.
To apply for the ITP Scholarship, complete the FAFSA and the Institute Scholarship Application. The Scholarship Application is available following the announcement of tuition rates for the coming year.
Diversity Scholarship
ITP has created the Diversity Scholarship for students from diverse cultural and economic backgrounds who are determined to make a difference with underserved populations of the world. ITP has proudly announced the 2008 Diversity Scholarship recipients.

Center for Divine Feminine Scholarship
The Center for the Divine Feminine at ITP is offering 2008-2009 tuition scholarships in the range of $2000-5000 to residential and global Master’s level and Ph.D. students at the Institute of Transpersonal Psychology. Scholarships are awarded based on a study’s emphasis on its connection to the Divine Feminine, the Divine Masculine, and/or a balance between the two; the project’s contribution to the field of transpersonal psychology and the Divine Feminine; or Feminist studies that includes some element of the sacred in them.

Residential Ph.D. African-American Scholarship
Student Eligibility Criteria:
- Must be African American (self-identify as African American)
- Enrollment status must be full-time third year of the Residential PhD Program
- Award is $1,000 per quarter (maximum of $3,000 per year) as tuition reduction and applied directly to student accounts in the Fall, Winter and Spring quarters (cannot be used for leave status-student must be enrolled at least full-time). No cash awards will be made under any circumstances.
- All recipients will be notified in writing by September 22. The applicant must have applied and qualified for financial aid. Priority will be given to students who have never received the African American scholarship in the past.
Application Process:
Please submit a 1-page letter (name, email, phone number, year, program) expressing interest and indicating how you meet the eligibility criteria (email is acceptable) to the attention of Paula Yue, Dean of Student Services at pyue@itp.edu by the deadline of September 15th.
Presidential Merit & Financial Hardship Scholarship
Eligibility and selection criteria:
- International student in the Residential Doctoral Program
- Demonstrated financial need
- Student status Year 2-Continuation
- Demonstrated academic merit (based on academic record)
- Demonstrated past success (and future possibilities) in furthering the field of Transpersonal Psychology through presentations, research and service
- Verbal or written support by at least 2 Executive Core Faculty who can respond to and support items #4, and #5
The selection and amount of the award will be determined by the President (or a committee appointed by the President).
Award Distribution:
At the discretion of the President (or appointed committee) the award may be made in:
- One lump sum for one quarter as tuition reduction or
- Divided into three payments (one per quarter) as tuition reduction to be applied directly to the student’s account in the Fall, Winter and Spring quarters.
No cash awards will be made under any circumstances and the recipient will be notified in writing. To continue to receive the tuition reduction (if divided into quarters), academic progress must be made each quarter.

The award will be made within two weeks of the deadline.
