ITP offers distance education through our Global Online Programs because we understand that many working adults with personal, family, and community obligations cannot relocate. We believe in and support the philosophy of distance education in a virtual setting, however, we feel strongly that in-person seminars are necessary to bond a community of learners. As the centerpiece of our innovative model for distance education, the seminar is designed to support your progress by providing a setting for community building and deep connection with your peers. It is our goal to ensure that you have both an interactive learning experience and close contact with your instructors and other students.

In a beautiful retreat-like setting, seminars provide presentations on transpersonal theory, practice, and career development, interspersed with course introductions, meditation, movement, body awareness processes, group interaction, creative expression and rituals. Students attend two seminars per year for one or more years. Held in California, they are generally six days in length. Day passes for specific keynote speakers are open to the general public as well.

In addition to the seminar, Global Online Programs use an optimal combination of formats and media to deliver the curriculum and enhance the learning experience. If you are interested in research and scholarly arts, the PhD in Psychology with a transpersonal concentration offers both a 5-year program for those without a master's degree and a 3-year program (advanced standing) for those with a qualifying master's.

Perhaps you already have a graduate degree and want to round out your knowledge with a transpersonal component for personal or career enhancement? The one-year Certificate in Transpersonal Studies offers a theoretical foundation in the principles, practices, and philosophies found within the field transpersonal psychology.
