ITP Professor Publishes Article in British Transpersonal Journal
The latest issue of the Transpersonal Psychology Review (TPR) contains an article by ITP Professor William Braud. The TPR is the journal of the Transpersonal Section of the British Psychological Society (the U.K. equivalent of the APA).
Dr. Braud's article contrasts two approaches to knowing--a universalistic, nomothetic (general laws-orientated) view (metaphorically represented by the straightline ley path) and a complementary particularistic, idiographic (individual-emphasizing) view (metaphorically represented by the twisting, circling labyrinth path). The strengths and limitations of the two approaches are illustrated by examples drawn from literature, science, philosophy, psychology, and transpersonal studies.
