ITP Graduate Jean Brown accepted into the Psychological Residency Training Program as a Resident Therapist at the Blanton-Peale Institute

In 2005, Jean Brown graduated from ITP with her dissertation, Inquiry into the understanding and applications of DSM-IV category Religious or Spiritual Problem, V-Code 62.89 by American Psychological Association (APA) psychologists. Since, she has shared in the success of her fellow grads, having been accepted into the Psychological Residency Training Program as a Resident Therapist at the Blanton-Peale Institute.

The Blanton-Peale Institute is located at Marble Collegiate Church in New York. Blanton-Peale recognizes the partnership of psyche and soul working together to enhance personal growth and health on a path of Transcendance. It offers  the only New York-accredited state licensure-qualifying program that integrates spirituality and psychotherapy. It has its own counseling centers around the city and  uses only its residents and social work interns as counselors in its centers.

Jean will be given a case load and a stipend, as well as the training, hours and supervision needed to qualify for the NYS licensing exam (psychoanalytic). She will also be eligible for accreditation as a pastoral counselor (multi-faith), and intends to use these as the foundation for an independent practice upon completion of the program.

Jean wrote to us after finding she had earned the position: "The program offers the freedom to explore and develop my individual style and approach as a practitioner. It covers everything I wanted and everything I need. I also received an $8,000 scholarship toward the cost of tuition. I am truly grateful to each of you for your effort in helping me get to this point."

We at ITP are proud of our graduates and their accomplishments and wish Jean the best of luck with her new job and her future endeavors.
