ITP Doctoral Student Jay Dufrechou Has Been Selected as a Recipient of the 2002 Sidney M. Jourard Award for Dissertation Excellence.
Jay's dissertation is entitled, "Coming Home to Nature Through the Body: An Intuitive Inquiry Into Experiences of Grief, Weeping, and Other Deep Emotions in Response to Nature. " On his committee were Rosemarie Anderson (chair), William Braud (DDD), and Peter Raynolds (3rd member). Jay will travel from his home in Montana to Chicago, in August, to receive the award and present his work at the 2002 Convention of the American Psychological Association (APA). The award is granted through the APA's Division 32 (Humanistic Psychology).
