ITP Doctoral Candidate Bill Kueppers Receives APA Division 32 Sidney Jourard Award for Dissertation Excellence

ITP Doctoral Candidate Bill Kueppers is one of four students selected, nationwide, to present their research findings at the upcoming American Psychological Association Convention in Toronto, Canada, this August and to receive the APA Division 32 Sidney Jourard Award for Dissertation Excellence.

Bill's dissertation is entitled "The Practice and Dynamics of Authenticity: An Organic Research Study." He explored persons' experiences of instances of authenticity and inauthenticity, in their lives, and studied how they identified such instances, which factors motivated or inhibited authentic actions, and the short- and long-term impacts of authentic and inauthentic actions on themselves and on others--from both their own viewpoints and those of others involved.

The ITP-developed "organic inquiry" research approach was used. Another novel aspect of the study was sampling of participants in terms of their enneatypes, as a way of enhancing the personality diversity of the research sample. Congratulations to Bill Kueppers for the excellence, importance, and authenticity of this work! Members of Bill's dissertation committee include William Braud (Chairperson and DDD), Paul Roy (Member), and Hillevi Ruumet (Member). Dwight Judy is Bill's Expert Outside Reader.
