The Neurophenomenology Lab (NPL)
The Neurophenomenology Lab (NPL) was founded in 2009 by ITP Professor Olga Louchakova-Schwartz and ITP student Merlin Lucas with a grant from the Spitzer Family Foundation. The purpose of the lab is to support ITP faculty and student research projects focused on the phenomenological, neuroscientific, and neurophenomenological study of spirituality and meditation. The lab is equipped with a 64-channel electroencephalography (EGI Geodesic Sensor Net and Net Station software), and hosts a research group working under the direction of Olga Louchakova-Schwartz. The lab is available for research internships via the Transpersonal Education and Research Specialization for students in the MA, Psy.D. and Ph.D. programs at ITP.
Your gifts, of any size, are encouraged and deeply appreciated. With your help, the research being conducted in ITP's Neurophenomenology Lab will bridge the gap between spirituality and science, illuminate what is consciousness, and reveal how spirituality is innate to the whole human being.
